Samuel J. Paparo, Sr

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Samuel J. Paparo, Sr., 81 of Aston, Pennsylvania, on February 23, 2026. Born October 1, 1944 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Sam lived a life defined by hard work, devotion to his family, and a love of the sport of kings. He served his country as a United States Marine Corps veteran before building an honorable career a carpenter at the U.S. Naval Shipyard in Philadelphia-A man who gave his hands to his craft and his heart to his family.
He is lovingly survived by his children, Samuel J. Paparo, Jr. (Maureen), Stephen J. Paparo and Suzanne R. Paparo-Sands (David): his grandchildren, Regina, Samuel, Elizabeth, Nicholas, John, Joseph, and Michael: and his great-granddaughter Clare.
Beyond his family, Sam's greatest joy was found at the track. His love of harness racing and his horses was a lifelong passion that brought happiness to all who knew him-a man who appreciated grit, grace, and a hard run down the stretch. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
