Albert Grafstrom, Jr. Obituary

Albert B. Grafström, Jr., 87, of Downingtown, passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2026.  He was the husband of Joan DeSantis-Grafström, with whom he celebrated 65 years of marriage.  Born in Lansdowne, he was a son of the late Albert B., Sr., and Agnes (Murtha) Grafström. 

Albert was an alumnus of Villanova University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering. He began his career at General Electric and worked in the aerospace program, finishing his career with Tunnell Consulting as Vice President.   He served his country, actively, for 7 years in the United States Coast Guard.  He was a member of SS Philip and James Catholic Church-Exton.  Albert enjoyed traveling to the Poconos, was a proud fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and Villanova Basketball and most of all, Al loved his family!

In addition to his wife, Albert is survived by his children, Lisamarie Grafström (Dave Schnitzler), Albert B. Grafström, III (James R. Whittaker), Jacqueline Grafström (James Ortlieb), Mishel Grafström (Daniel Shaffer) and Renée Grafström (Steven Gruchevsky); Grandchildren, Zachary Crater, Nicholas Crater, Josh Crater, Ben Shaffer, Abby Shaffer and Aaron Gruchevsky; Great-Grandchildren, Marissa Crater, Emma Crater, Anthony Crater, Owen Crater, Daniel Crater, Jackson Crater, Max Crater, Brooks Crater and Cole Albert Crater.

Visitation with family and friends will be held from 10:00-11:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial to begin at 11:00 AM, on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, all to be held at SS Philip and James, 723 Lincoln Highway, Exton, PA 19341.  Interment to follow in SS Peter and Paul Cemetery-Springfield, PA.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks to kindly make a donation in memory of Albert to one of the following organizations; National Down Syndrome Society at https://ndss.org/ or Global Down Syndrome Foundation at https://www.globaldownsyndrome.org/ or Tunnel to Towers Foundation at https://t2t.org
